In 2004, Lilly Oncology in the United States launched Lilly Oncology on Canvas® to create an opportunity for people affected by cancer to share their personal journeys, as well as to educate others about the cancer experience.
To date, almost 4,500 patients, family members, friends, caregivers, and healthcare providers in the United States and Puerto Rico have shared their cancer experiences through art and narrative.
Visit www.lillyoncologyoncanvas.com for more information on the American program and to view the online exhibition.
In 2014, the original Lilly Oncology on Canvas program expanded to Canada. Lilly Oncology helps share the power of creative expression, and its importance to people whose lives have been touched by cancer. In thanks for each submissions, Lilly Canada will make a donation in the participant’s honour to the cancer-related charity of their choice. Each year, a total of $5000 in donations will be shared proportionately, according to the number of submissions received, among the charities identified in each submission package.
You don’t have to be a professional artist or writer to create a submission. It’s the sharing of the story that counts.
